FRACTIONAL DISTILLATION OF MIXTURES OF CLOSE-BOILING COMPONENTS USING HEAT PUMPS
Obtaining products of high purity by fractional distillation requires important capital expenditures and high operating costs. The use of heat pumps in circuits for separating close-boiling mixtures reduces operating costs by several times. An analysis of the use of different types of heat pumps is presented: compressor, absorption, and a combination of the two. It is shown that absorption chillers (LBAC) have the greatest effect.
