Pt-195 NMR of Tetranuclear Platinum(II) Cluster Complexes That Have Chemically Nonequivalent Nuclei - (Pt4(Ch3Coo)7(Ch3Conh)) and (Pt4(Ch3Coo)5(Ch3Conh)3)
Both of the titled compounds with direct Pt-Pt bonds have four chemically nonequivalent platinum nuclei and show very complicated Pt-195 NMR spectra because of four different 1J(Pt-Pt)’s and the existence of 16 isotopomers owing to the natural abundance of the Pt-195 nucleus. Each spectrum was successfully analyzed on the basis of spectral patterns of 10 isotopomers, the line broadening caused by the nitrogen donation, and the cyclic nature of the cluster core.
