Reactions of Uranyl Thiolate Complexes with Molecular-Oxygen - Syntheses and Crystal and Molecular-Structures of the Uranyl Thiolate Peroxo Species (Hnet(3))(2)((UO2)(2)(O-2)(Sc4N2H3)(4)) and (Hnet(3))(H(UO2)(2)(O-2)(SC(4)N(2)H(2)Me)(4))Center-Dot-Me(2)Co-Center-Dot-0.5Et(3)N and of the Uranyl Thiolate Oxo Cluster (Hnet(3))(2)((UO2)(4)(O)(2)(Sc5Nh4)(6))Center-Dot-Me(2)Co
Solutions of uranyl-mercaptopyrimidine and uranyl-mercaptopyridine complexes react with molecular oxygen at room temperature to give either peroxo-bridged binuclear species or ore-bridged tetranuclear clusters. Both the side-on planar mu-eta(2)-eta(2) and side-on bent mu-eta(2)-eta(2) peroxo bridging are observed depending on reaction conditions.
