Different Pathways of the Reaction of InCl with pH(3)Paucl - Isolation of the First Mixed-Valent Mixed-Metal Gold/Indium Cluster
In the absence of an auxiliary ligand, the title reaction led to redox products among which In2Cl4(thf)(2) has been identified as an In-In-bonded dinuclear In(II) complex. However, in the presence of Ph(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PPh(2) (dppe), a novel hexanuclear cluster of the formula Au3In3Cl6(dppe)(2) was produced, which is composed of a triangle of gold atoms (with one very short edge) penetrated by a perpendicular triangle of indium atoms.
