Carboxylation of Dihydroxoplatinum(IV) Complexes via a New Synthetic Pathway
The carboxylation of dihydroxoplatinum(IV) compounds by acyl chlorides is described. This new reaction in synthetic inorganic chemistry is ideally suited to the synthesis of a wide variety of new potential representatives of orally administrable bis(carboxylato)platinum(IV) complexes which would be difficult to prepare by substitution reactions.
