Hydrogen Peroxide Detection Using a Polypyrrole/Prussian Blue Nanowire Modified Electrode
E-mail:
A hydrogen peroxide sensor based on a polypyrrole (PPy)/Prussian blue (PB) modified electrode was developed. PPy nanowires were prepared by one step template free electrochemical polymerization on a gold electrode and a PB layer was deposited using an electrochemical method. The introduction of the PPy nanostructure can provide a high surface area and lead to high sensitivity to hydrogen peroxide. The surface morphology of the PPy/PB electrode was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The structural features of the PPy/ PB electrode were confirmed by attenuated total reflection infrared (ATR-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Chronoamperometry (CA) was used to evaluate the sensitivity of the sensor towards hydrogen peroxide.
