Silicon Insertion into Boranes - A Rational Synthetic Route to Silicon-Containing Heteroboranes
The reactive dianion nido-B10H122- has been shown to insert silicon moieties to generate heteroundecaboranes of the form 7-R-7-SiB10H12-. NMR data for two new derivatives (R = H, Ph) are presented in addition to a proposed mechanism of insertion.
