Synthesis of Trans-(Mo(O)(F)(dppe)(2))(BF4), Trans-(Mo(O)(Oh)(dppe)(2))(ClO4), and Trans-(Mo(O)(2)(dppe)(2)).2L (L=h2O, CH3OH, Ch3Ch2Oh, Ch3Chohch3) - Crystal-Structure of Trans-(Mo(O)(2)(dppe)(2)).2Ch(3)Oh
The solvates trans-[Mo(O)(2)(dppe)(2)].2L. (L = H2O, CH3OH, CH3CH2OH, CH3CHOHCH3) have been prepared by letting trans-[Mo(O)(F)(dppe)(2)](BF4) react with NEt4OH in mixtures of acetone and the respective hydrogen-bond done; solvents. This series of compounds is the first example of adduct formation between a trans-dioxo d(2) metal complex and potential substrates for oxidation. These compounds can be protonated in two steps. The electronic spectra of the trans-oxo-hydroxo and trans-ore-aqua species are consistent with the lowest energy transition being of d(xy) --> {d(zx), d(yz)} character.
