Raman spectra and temperature-dependent Raman scattering of carbon nanoscrolls
We have fabricated carbon nanoscrolls (CNSs) from monolayer graphene and investigated temperature-dependent Raman scattering of CNSs. Firstly, monolayer graphene prefers to form stacked layers, rather than tubular-like structures. Secondly, Raman signals between CNSs and monolayer graphene are similar, except the ratios between G and 2D peaks' intensities. Finally, the G and 2D band frequencies downshift with temperature increasing from 303 K to 473 K. The temperature coefficients for G and 2D bands are (1.86 +/- 0.06) x 10 (2) cm (1)/K and -(3.46 +/- 0.28) x 10 (2) cm (1)/K, respectively, which are similar to those of monolayer graphene. Therefore, compared with monolayer graphene, CNSs show similar electronic band structure and different phonon dispersion. (C) 2010 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
