Investigation of Multiphase Flows on Inclined Plates as Potential Design Tool for Separation Devices
In chemical engineering devices liquids often flow in form of films and rivulets. The basic understanding on mass transfer in such flows typically with a thickness below 1 mm is essential for the design of devices. The knowledge on flow pattern and mass transport can be achieved using normal plates. The influence of the surface structure on mass transport and flow field is verified by basic investigations. The results can be applied for CFD model validation und significant development of design methods.
