Two-dimensional sheets of rugged hexagonal grids of [Cu-6(trans-oxen)(3)(mu(3)-OH)(2)(H2O)(2)](n)(4n+) with copper(II) bridged by trans-oxamidate (oxen) and mu(3)-OH- groups
The coordination polymeric cation of [Cu-6(trans-oxen)(3)(mu(3)-OH)(2)(H2O)(2)](n)Br-4n . 3nH(2)O exhibits a two-dimensional sheetlike framework with rugged hexagonal grids of copper(II) ions bridged by alternating trans-oxamidate and mu(3)-OH- groups producing antiferromagnetic interactions; The polymeric cation, anions Br-, and H2O molecules coordinated and solvated are connected to one another via a variety of H-bonded linkages to produce a three-dimensional extended network.
