Neocuproine-extended porphyrin coordination complexes
A conjugated porphyrin system has been synthesized which is capable of binding metal ions through a beta-fused neocuproine moiety. Its copper(I) and zinc(II) complexes have been studied spectroscopically, and notable differences between the two have been observed.
