Studies on the Sorption of Cadmium(II), Zinc(II), and Copper(II) with PTFE Selective Resin Containing Primary Amine N1923 and Cyanex923
The adsorption of Cd(II), Zn(II), and Cu(II) from chloride medium with PTFE Selective Resin containing primary amine N1923 and Cyanex923 has been investigated. The influences of the pH of solution and the contact time on the adsorption have been discussed, and the appropriate experimental conditions have been obtained. The adsorption kinetics investigations indicate that the adsorption rate of Cd(II), Zn(II), and Cu(II) on the Selective Resin can be well described by the pseudosecond-order kinetics model, and the adsorption capacities calculated by the pseudosecond-order rate model are close to those determined by actual measurements. Both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models match the experimental data very well, and the maximum adsorption capacity (q(max)) has been calculated to be 263.16 mg Cd(II)/g.resin, 54.95 mg Zn(II)/g.resin, and 39.84 mg Cu(II)/g.resin, respectively.
