Novel luminescent Au(I) pyrimidinethiolate dimer having an unusual pi-stacking structure
Two new Au(I) dimethylpyrrimidinethiolate complexes have been synthesized. The dimer [Au(4,6-Me(2)pym-2-S)](2) possesses a solid state structure in which pi-stacking dominates over intermolecular Au ... Au bonding. In solution, the dimer gives evidence of facile dissociation while exhibiting concentration dependent luminescence.
