Gold complexes of trithiocyanuric acid: A two-dimensional polymer assembled through gold(I)center dot center dot center dot gold(I) interactions
The 2,4,6-trithiocyanurate complex [2,4,6-C3N3(SAuL)(3)] is stable when L = triphenylphosphine, but when L = tert-butyl isocyanide, it reacts to give the hexagold(I) complex [{C3N3(AuL)(SAuL)S-2(mu-Au)}(2)]. which contains short intramolecular Au...Au bonds and forms a novel two-dimensional sheet structure through intermolecular Au...Au bonding.
