The effects of a genetic insulator (chicken cHS4) on transgene expression in a positive feedback system using the GAL4-VP16 activator and luciferase reporter plasmids were examined. The introduction of cHS4 enhanced luciferase expression in mouse liver, indicating that this system would be useful for efficient transgene expression. (C) 2011, The Society for Biotechnology, Japan.
