Use of Symmetry Groups in Sliding Mode Control of Nonlinear Distributed-Parameter Systems
Sliding mode control theory is applied to a class of distributed parameter systems. The viability of using symmetry groups to aid in feedback control of such systems is discussed. A conjecture is presented that leads to the calculation of the control law. To support the conjecture, the method is applied to the control of a chemical reactor.
