Nachtsheim and Swigert Method Extended to the Study of the 2-Dimensional Plane or Axisymmetrical, Nonisothermal, Laminar Boundary-Layer with Blowing
Nachtsheim and Swigert have developed a very efficient shooting method to solve the laminar boundary-layer equations of isothermal flows with similar velocty profiles. In this work, we present an extension of this method for the solving of nonsimilar boundary-layer equations of two-dimensional or axisymmetric external flow, with or without gas blowing and with or without pressure gradient. Variations of the two different fluid properties in a nonisothermal Row are taken into account. The efficiency of the proposed method is verified for four examples of laminar flows. A sample of the results for velocity, temperature and gas concentration profiles, friction coefficient and heat transfer on the wall surface, is compared with the results available in literature.
