Membrane filtration is an established technology for treatment of industrial sewage and process chemicals. However, separation of particles and colloids from chemically aggressive substances remains a challenging task for the applied filter materials. Particular for separation tasks in the range of strong acidic and strong alkaline hot solutions a new filter membrane was developed utilizing chemical resistance of PVC. The microporous membrane can be produced in a continuous roll to roll process on common production lines for polymer processing.
