Numerical Computation of Particles-Turbulence Interaction
This paper reviews recent research on the use of numerical simulations to study the motion of particles in turbulent flows. The main emphasis is on direct numerical simulation (DNS). The techniques of DNS are briefly reviewed. The need to establish more appropriate particle equations of motion is discussed and recent progress is summarized. Results for both one-way and two-way (feedback) coupling are reviewed.
