Interfacial and Structural Stability of Separated Flow
An overview on the stability of separated flow (stratified and annular flow) is presented. The stability of separated flows is discussed using two approaches : the interfacial stability analysis and the structural stability analysis. For each case the stability of the steady state solutions has been examined, using linear and non-linear analyses. Both the interfacial and the structural stability analyses are needed for the complete information regarding the stability of the steady state solutions and the resulting how pattern transition.
