Stokes-Flow Through an Array of Rectangular Fibers
The slow viscous flow through an array of rectangular fibers is solved by the efficient method of eigenfunction expansion and domain decomposition. In particular, the normalized permeability is determined for square fibers and strips in rectangular arrays. The limitations of the approximate capillary model and the obstacle model are shown. An empirical formula for the drag of a single square fiber is also given.
