FLEXURAL MODULUS OF COMPRESSION MOLDED GLASS-FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTICS
The flexural properties of compression molded stampable glass fiber reinforced polypropylene are examined Fibers flowing with the polymeric matrix are found to be oriented close to the edge of the die. The fiber orientation distribution is characterized by a fiber orientation index using an image processing system. The flexural elastic modulus of the plaque estimated from laminated-plate theory is found to be in good agreement with the experimental results.
