Convection of dust particles in vortex-type flow
The paper presents the results of experimental research of the convection of dust particles in the air flowing through an axially symmetrical cyllindrical chamber. In the chamber, due to a special location of air conduits delivering the air, a tornado-like now (vortex-type) was generated Particles of dust were introduced continuously into the zone of the now and as a result, a two-phase mixture now was induced. The experiment comprised two stages. Stage one consisted in the determination of the velocity field and static pressures in the atest chamber at various intensities of the air now through the chamber. Stage two consisted in the determination of the way how dust particles moved, with the consideration of the influence of particle fractions (size and mass) on the dust movement in a tornado-like flow induced in a chamber.
