The analysis of the calculation methods of the gas velocity at the flood point presented in the literature has been made. An obstacle in application of those methods for the design and optimisation calculations may be an unacquaintedness of the experimental coefficients Characteristic of a given packing. The method for calculation of the flooding velocity on packing on the basis of porosity and specific surface of the packing has been elaborated.
