Velocity of feed particles in the near-to-wall region of a rotary drum
Results of investigations of the effect of process and design parameters and the type of drum filling on particle velocity in the region of bed-to-inner wall contact are discussed. The movement of the fed material was recorded on the front side of the granulator by means of a video camera and analyzed by a computer image analyzer. Particle velocities were determined by measuring their angular shifts in the period equal to multiplicity of the time of a single frame transport (0.02 s).
