Modelling of low-pressure methanol synthesis - I. Modelling of the bubble column slurry reactor
Basing on the reaction rate data of methanol synthesis on the catalyst suspended in the mixture of fatty alcohols the kinetic parameters in the rate equations were employed in modelling of the bubble column slurry reactor (BCSR). Three models describing the performance of the BCSR for methanol synthesis were compared. For the flow pattern in the gas phase a plug flow or perfect mixing was assumed, whereas the slurry phase was described by perfect mixing or unmixed liquid models.
