The paper describes the results of investigations concerning a new version of an on-line rotational rheometer for biological suspensions, containing settling particles. A measuring system of the rheometer - consisting of a stationary inner cylinder attached to the torque meter, and a rotating outer cylinder with a helical channel on the inner surface - has been proposed. The evaluation technique of the results of measurements has been presented and verified by preliminary experiments.
