Multicomponent mass transfer in the presence of an inert species. II. Comparison between experimental data and calculations
The experimental verification of the mathematical model of the simultaneous heat and mass transfer in nonisothermal, multicomponent system presented in the first part of paper was performed. The experiments were done using the systems of isopropanol-water-air and isopropanol-water-helium. The results obtained were compared with those predicted by the various mathematical models which either include or neglect the effect of diffusional cross-effects on mass transfer rate. The analysis of the influence of the heat and mass transfer resistances changes on the diffusional mass fluxes were performed.
