Suspension melt crystallization in continuous agitated crystallizer
Investigations of the possibility of increasing the crystal size of caprolactam produced in suspension melt crystallization are presented. A 3.6.10(-3) m(3) new type crystallizer in two configurations: as a Double Draw-off crystallizer and as a crystallizer with fines removal and caprolactam with 0.7 wt% and I wt% of water were used in the experiments. It has been found that it is possible to increase (in comparison with crystals obtained in MSMPR crystallizer) median size L-50 of crystals produced in the Double Draw-off crystalizer by about 53% and by about 25% in the crystallizer with fines removal.
