Gasoline production from phytol
Phytol, a diterpene alcohol found in many plants, has been subjected to catalytic cracking and a large enough sample for ASTM gasoline analysis has been obtained. The product shows a high octane number and meets many of the ASTM requirements for gasoline. Such a process represents a renewable route to motor fuels. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
