We report a highly ion conductive gel polymer electrolytes for supercapacitor, composed of poly(2-[3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxyphenyl] ethyl methacrylate)-poly(oxyethylene methacryalate) (PBE) copolymer and 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanmide ionic liquid. The best performance of supercapacitor using PBE/EMIM DCA electrolytes exhibited higher capacitance (125.1 F g-1) than that of reference PVA/H3PO4 electrolyte (39.5 F g-1) due to its high ion conductivity and good affinity with electrode. Also, fast ion diffusion property of PBE/EMIM DCA electrolytes was represented by great capacitance retention (70%) at fast scan rate, which is much higher than PVA/H3PO4 electrolyte. Moreover, supercapacitor using PBE/EMIM DCA electrolytes showed considerable cycle stability (91.1 %, after 10 000 cycles of charge-discharge). It is expected to PBE/EMIM DCA electrolytes could be a promising candidate for high performance solid-state supercapacitor and energy storage systems. |
