제목 PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF NOVEL CO2-RESPONSIVE HYDROGEL  BASED ON POLYASPARTAMIDE DERIVATIVES
초록 Novel poly(2-hydroxyethyl aspartamide) copolymers containing imidazole or guanidine pendent groups as the CO2-absorbing moiety were prepared from polysuccinimide, which is the thermal polycondensation product of L-aspartic acid, through a ring-opening reaction with histamine or arginine along with ethanolamine. The prepared copolymers were then cross-linked by reacting with hexamethylene diisocyanate in order to provide hydrogels having not only good gel strength, but reversible CO2 absorption characteristics. The swelling behavior and morphology of the cross-linked hydrogels were investigated. The hydrogels were characterized by their degree of swelling upon CO2 or N2 bubbling, to demonstrate the reversible volume transitions. The resulting gels have potential for various industrial and biomedical applications including CO2 capture, CO2-responsive and switchable hydrogel sensor, etc.
