Dye sensitized solar cells employing SiO2-Au NPs-TiO2 nanostructures for efficient light absorption |

SiO2 coated Au NPs (Nanoparticles) / TiO2 nanoparticles (SiO2-Au NPs-TiO2) were fabricated to increase the light absorption in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Au NPs were organized on TiO2 particles through unique method using α-synuclein (αS) protein. SiO2-Au NPs-TiO2 structures exhibited localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) by AuNPs. Au NPs layer on the TiO2 particles enables the working electrode to use broad solar spectrum. The novelty of this research suggests new guidance to designing nanomaterials. |
