제목 A stretchable conductive polymer with enhanced stretchability using π−π stacking and amorphous chains
초록 Although intermolecular charge transport is known to occur via π−π stacking, the interests of their mechanical properties were not considered much in comparison with other dynamic non-covalent interactions. Herein, we demonstrate a method to improve stretchability by reducing the crystallinity and increasing the π−π stacking of the thiophene-based random copolymer chain. The polymer network includes a coil-shaped amorphous chain that helps dissipate energy when the polymer film is subjected to strain; Besides, π-π stacking prevents the chain from irreversibly slipping through the applied strain and improves interchain charge transport. As a result, we improved conducting polymer’s properties such as elongation at break and tensile strength, and toughness along with charge mobility. In addition, our polymers are highly resistant to a 40% strain without reducing charge mobility while maintaining stable electrical performance even after 5,000 extensional cycles at 30% strain.
