제목 | Effect of the modified zirconia nanoparticles sizes upon refractive index and transmittance of organic-inorganic hybrid sol |
초록 | In recent years, the need for optical materials with high refractive index in the areas of optical thin films, et al. especially at the primary particle size level, is absolutely important for the formation of homogeneous nanoparticles films and transparent nanocomposites. Functionalization can be employed to offer better compatibility of nanoparticles with dispersing media, to prevent nanoparticles from aggregation, as well as to render the nanoparticles with chemical reactivity. In this study, we reported refractive index and transmittance according to the size of zirconia nanoparticles. The zirconia particles were modified with silane coupling agents. From analysis the 5~20nm modified zirconia indicate chemical bonding between zirconia and silane coupling agent. Transmittance increases when ZrO2 particles size decreases from 20nm to 5nm. The refractive index also shows a similar trend in transmittance. That’s because small zirconia particles have the high dispersibility. |
