The effects of a spinel-structured MgAl2O4 contnet on SiC support were invesigated for combined steam and CO2 reforming with CH4. The active catalytic compoent of NiSrOx was fixed at a molar ratio of Sr/Ni = 0.1/1 with MgAl2O4 composition of MgO/Al2O3 = 3/7 (wt%), and the nickel contnet in reforming catalysts is around 18wt% based on MgAl2O3/SiC support. This reforming supprot of MgAl2O3/SiC was prepared by co-precipitation with NH4OH precipitant with a different MgAl2O4/SiC weight ratio from 0 to 20%, and NiSrOx was subsequently prcipitaed on the support. The highest catalytic activity was observed at the composition of 10wt%MgAl2O4/SiC. The enhanced catalytic activity was explained by the dispersion of both NiSrOx and MgAl2O4, and the structural properties were also characterized by XRD, TPR and BET analyses. |
