Preparation and Characterization of Polyolefin-based Activated Carbon Fibers with High Mechanical Properties |
초록 |
This study studied a method for manufacturing high-density polyethylene-based activated carbon fibers (HDPE-ACF) using a hybrid cross-linking method. HDPE precursor fibers were first cross-linked with an electron beam at various irradiation doses and then cross-linked again in sulfuric acid at a low temperature. Hybrid cross-linked fibers were carbonized at 700℃ and then activated at 900℃ using a steam activation technique. The specific surface area and total pore volume of the resulting ACF were observed to be 2090 m2/g and 1.30 cm3/g, respectively. |
