제목 | Epoxy composites including surface modified halloysite nanotube |
초록 | CNTs have been interested in preparing nanocomposites due to high thermal and mechanical properties caused by nanotube geometry. Previous studies reported that CNTs nanocomposites improved mechanical properties such as Young’s modulus, tensile strength, or flexural strength. However, high cost for preparing CNTs brought about issues in terms of applying CNTs for industrial applications. HNTs are naturally plentiful, cheap, and eco-friendly clay minerals. Therefore, HNTs draw attractions as an alternative of CNTs to prepare for nanocomposites. In this report, HNTs were used to prepare epoxy nanocomposites. In addition, surface modification of HNTs was researched to improve its mechanical properties in the epoxy composites. The physical properties changes of the epoxy composites including surface modified HNTs were studied by TGA, and FT-IR. Furthermore, mechanical properties such a s tensile strength or flexural strength of the composites were analyzed with universal testing machine. |
