제목 Controlled growing of Polydiene brushes on the Poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) Particle Surfaces by Living Anionic Surface-Initiated Polymerization
초록 Polyisoprene and polybutadiene brushes on the Poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) particle surfaces were synthesized by means of Living Anionic Surface-Initiated Polymerization(LASIP) with sec-BuLi as an initiator and N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylethylenediamine(TMEDA) as a polar additive. The surfaces of the synthesized particles with polydiene brushes were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The graft efficiency and the graft density were investigated using free polymer. 83% graft efficiency was obtained with 90% yield by removal of excess sec-BuLi and 5.41ⅹ106chains/μm2 graft density was confirmed by control of the concentration of TMEDA. The molecular weights and the molecular weight distributions of the synthesized polymer brushes were measured using gel permeation chromatography(GPC) and the microstructures and the compositions were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR) spectroscopy. The molecular weights could be controlled by quantities of input monomers.
