131I-Labelled Pyronaridine as an Imaging Agent for a Biological Evaluation |

Pyronaridine is an antimalarial drug that is currently under intense investigation. 131I-Labelled pyronaridine was synthesized as an imaging agent for a biological evaluation. The labelling yield and radiochemical purity of the 131I-labelled pyronaridine were determined by radio-TLC and HPLC. The radio-TLC chromatograms revealed a presence of ＞95% for the 131I-labelled pyronaridine. The HPLC chromatogram revealed a single peak confirming the presence of ＞99% for the 131I-labelled pyronaridine. The 131I-labelled pyronaridine was used as an imaging agent to study the metabolism and mode of a response for pyronaridine. |
