A series of amphiphilic, conjugated triblock copolymers (PEO-b-PF-b-PEO) containing a rod-like poly(9,9-didodecyl fluorene-2,7-diyl) midblock segment and hydrophilic, coil-like, poly(ethylene oxide) blocks at end blocks. The micellar aggregates of PEO-b-PF-b-PEO were formed in various solvent systems. Their self-assembled nanostructures and physical properties were characterized by photoluminescence (PL), transmission and scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. The PL intensity of the peaks around 525 nm was reduced with concentration, indicating that the micellar aggregates were formed in the solution. The PL data also showed that the critical micelle concentration of PEO-b-PF-b-PEO changes with the length of the PEO coil block. |
