Ink-jet printing is one of the representative solution processes in the fabrication of organic thin-film transistors (TFT) due to its advantages, such as simple process, extremely low fabrication cost, and relatively low material loss over complicated vacuum processes. However, ink-jet printing for organic semiconducting materials, such as 6,13-bis(triisopropyl-silylethynyl)pentacene (TIPS-pentacene) can cause some problems, such as nozzle clogging and ink spreading. In order to solve those problems, polymeric binders which can provide proper viscosity with the ink solution can be used with small molecular semiconducting materials. In this presentation, we will describe the synthesis and TFT characteristics of novel polymeric binders based on 4-diphenylaminostyrene. |
