Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) have been widely used in protective films, die attach adhesive films, self-adhesive tapes, and polarizing films. UV cross-linkable PSAs were synthesized by the radical copolymerization of n-butylacrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, acrylic acid, 4-benzoylphenyl methacrylate (BPM), and methyl methacrylate (MMA). BMP was used as a UV cross-linkable unit and MMA for enhanced thermal durability of the UV cross-linkable PSAs. The synthesized PSAs were applied to LCD polarizing films, and then cured by UV radiation. The characteristics of the UV cross-linked PSAs including peel resistance, creep strength, light leakage, and durability were investigated according to the content of MMA and UV radiation time. |
