In this study, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)/poly(ethylene-co-vinylacetate) (EVAc) blend film was prepared by hot plate press with various vinylacetate contents 12 wt.%, 18 wt.% and 25 wt.%, respectively, which was for the purpose of application in the road construction. To obtain LLDPE/EVAc blend film having various vinylacetate contents, blend conditions such as pressing times, temperatures, and cooling conditions were varied, and the films with various transparencies were successfully prepared. Influence of vinylacetate contents of the various transparencies was investigated using differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), wide-angle X-ray diffractometer (WAXRD), UV/VIS/NIR (Cary 500). The transparency of blend films generally increased with vinylacetate contents, and physical properties decreased instead, which was likely due to different crystallization behavior of each component of LLDPE and EVAc in blend films. |
