제목 Tryptone and tungsten concentration as influence factors in Clostridium autoethanogenum culture
초록 The use of ethanol represents potential substitutes of fossil fuels, especially gasoline. Due to the increasing demand for ethanol as new ethanol production methods have been developed. A highlighted ethanol production approach is the conversion of biomass using the hybrid technologies of gasification and fermentation.Clostridium autoethanogenum is a promising microorganism for bioconversion of synthesis gas composed to CO, CO₂, and H₂ to ethanol and acetic acid. In this study, we used Clostridium autoethanogenum as a biocatalyst for conversion from synthesis gas to bioethanol and acetic acid. We investigated to the effect of tryptone (an organic nitrogen source) and tungsten (metallic medium component) on microbial growth and product formation. We also tried to evaluate productivity by changing the culture temperature during the stationary phase (after 6 days culture). Ethanol and acetic acid productivity were compared according to individual operating factor.
