제목 EPR study and Electrical Properties of DNA-Au(III) complexes
초록 DNA has brought a big interest into the nanoelectronical world because of its unique capabilities to build up complex nanostructures via self-assembly. Moreover, structural modification of natural DNAs may lead to new properties and applications. J. S. Lee et al. designed a new form of metallic DNA, called M-DNA, by incorporating zinc in the hydrogen bonds between the bases and synthesized metal DNA complexes with divalent metal ions (Zn2+, Co2+, or Ni2+). In the new base pairing the natural hydrogen bonds are replaced by an intermediate metal atom that bonds to both bases. Tanaka et al. synthesized a novel nucleobase for alternative DNA base pairing through palladium complexation. Recently, Mertig et al. synthesized platinum cluster chains on DNA templates. Braun et al. reported the conductivity of DNA with positively charged silver ions in the phosphate backbone.
Herein we present incorporation of gold complexes into the structure of a natural DNA bases without destroying the hydrogen bonds of the base pairings. And we measured a conductance of DNA-Au complexes and studied EPR spectras on the Au atom %.
