Effects of pretreatments on the PFO derived binder pitch for artificial graphite block |

The difference in physical properties of artificial graphite block was compared through the binder pitch prepared through simple thermal synthesis and pretreatment of PFO (Pyrolysis fuel oil). In the experiment, the binder pitch is prepared through the thermal synthesis reaction after pressurization pretreatment. To compare with commercial binder pitch, softening point, TI and CV, TGA, SARA, MALDI-TOF-MS are measured to physical properties. In order to compare the physical properties of artificial graphite, a comparative analysis is performed by measuring the density, CV and strength in the block. Binder pitch made based on PFO has a higher coking value compared to commercial binder pitch, so it can be expected to improve physical properties in artificial graphite block. |
