Self-Crosslinking Injectable Hydrogels Containing BMP-2 Releasing Gelatin Microspheres |

A new microsphere-hydrogel composite, composed of BMP-2-loaded gelatin microspheres and self-crosslinking poly(amino acid)-based hydrogels, was developed for a bone-regenerative matrix. The self-crosslinking hydrogel can act as an injectable depot at lesion sites, and incorporated gelatin microspheres, prepared by precision particle fabrication technology, can control the release rate of loaded BMP-2. Microsphere-hydrogel composites described in this work can diversify the class of injectable hydrogel systems for bone tissue engineering. Acknowledgement.
