제목 Effect of PFO carbon coating on SiOx surface for cycle stability  of lithium ion batteries    
초록 Lithium ion batteries (LIBs) have been utilized in many fields such as portable electronic device, electronic vehicle, and large-scale energy storage system. SiOx is one of the most promising anode active materials for LIBs due to their high reversible specific capacity above 1000 mA h g-1. However, volume expansion and poor electrical conductivity of SiOx anode restrict their commercialization. Carbon coatings could prevent the volume expansion and enhance the electrical conductivity. In this study, we designed carbon-coated SiOx anode active material (SiOx@C) using Pyrolysis Fuel Oil (PFO). The specific capacity and cycling stability of SiOx@C was measured and compared to that of SiOx which was not coated. SiOx and SiOx@C showed similar specific capacities within 20 cycles but SiOx@C had higher value after that. Consequently, the results revealed that the prepared SiOx@C anode active material had good cycling stability for lithium ion storage.
